Avid NEXIS Enterprise (E) class storage platform was designed for small to mid-sized post-production, broadcast, audio and media education environments.

This team-level storage engine offers high redundancy and greater scalability, performance, and collaboration through optional dual-redundant controller cards, media pack mirroring and larger-capacity media packs.

As standard, these platforms support 40 editing clients and a maximum of 4 media packs. To increase the number of supported editing clients and media packs, an external System Director Appliance (SDA) is required.

NOTE: The E Series was superseded by the F Series at the end of 2022. E Series chassis are no longer available.

Avid NEXIS E2

The E2 platform is almost indistinguishable from the NEXIS Pro when viewed from the front. However, internally these are noticeably different in its capacity (RAW TB,) resilience (dual controllers) and media protection using media pack mirroring.

Avid NEXIS E4

The E4 is 4U deep and its 2 media packs (20 Media drives) can be controlled through a single controller card, but it offers the option for a failover controller too. It also has the advantage of being able to hold 2 active spare drives within the chassis. These chassis can also be half populated, although this is rarely found deployed in this manner.
