The Client Experience & Media Workflow

Bridge the gap between the server room and the edit suite.

• Workstation Optimization: Configuring client settings and mapping network drives.
• Media Management: Exploring how Avid Media Composer and Pro Tools interact with NEXIS.
• Continuity and Interface: Managing the Unity Attic and understanding bin locking mechanisms.
• File Distribution: A technical look at how data is written and protected across the drive array.

For most users, Avid NEXIS is a physical device housed in an editing facility or broadcaster. However, each NEXIS will vary in its size (storage capacity) and technical make-up and will have a model associated with it. In this course, we cover ALL the key concepts and terms used to maintain an operational system, but we do not cover ALL platforms within the NEXIS family.

• Avid NEXIS SSD
• Avid NEXIS Cloud

All the above are detailed in Avid's NEXIS documentation. We would also recommend the Avid NEXIS ASCR course if you wish to go deeper into these systems.
